US Imposes Sanctions on Senior Muslim Brotherhood Figure and Hamas Supporters

The United States announced a series of sanctions targeting a senior Egyptian member of the Muslim Brotherhood residing in the United Kingdom, along with three individuals and three organizations outside Egypt that provided material support to Hamas. State Department spokesperson Tommy Piggott stated that the sanctions aim to disrupt front organizations that funnel money to finance terrorism. Piggott emphasized that the action exposes Muslim Brotherhood affiliates and Hamas-directed front groups that use charitable organizations and underground networks to conceal and transfer funds supporting terrorism.
