Family Transforms Neglected Caesarea Home Into Private Resort-Style Residence

מאת קליה מור

The story · English

A family purchased a neglected private home in Caesarea that initially failed to reflect their dynamic lifestyle or the property's potential. The 400-square-meter house on a 630-square-meter lot was in poor condition and did not suit the needs of the parents, who run a cosmetics company abroad, and their three children aged 7, 9, and 10. They envisioned a home that felt like a private resort, offering a bright, open, and relaxing atmosphere suitable for daily family life and frequent entertaining.

Interior designer Moran Venuno led a comprehensive six-month renovation that transformed the house from the ground up. The redesign replaced cramped spaces with open areas, incorporated natural materials like wood and stone, and integrated the pool and garden into the home's overall design. The exterior was modernized with white tones, exposed concrete, black profiles, and lush greenery, creating a hotel-like entrance.

Inside, the kitchen became a central feature with warm wood cabinetry and a large marble island serving as a multifunctional hub for cooking, socializing, and family gatherings. The living room was designed as a calm, soft space with cream-colored seating, natural light, and minimalist decor. A key design goal was to blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living, with the pool area surrounded by tall plants for privacy and seamless transitions to outdoor seating.

Special attention was given to architectural details such as the staircase, which features light wood cladding and hidden lighting to add warmth and depth. The master bedroom continues the serene theme with textured light panels, soft lighting fixtures, and a cozy sofa, complemented by wooden flooring for warmth. The garden paths and tropical plants further enhance the private, tranquil resort feel.

Venuno emphasized that the design process began with defining the desired experience, peace, light, cleanliness, and privacy, rather than starting with colors or furniture. She highlighted the importance of balancing elegance with everyday practicality for a family home that supports children, hosting, and routine life.
