Family Transforms Neglected Caesarea Home Into Private Resort-Style Residence

A family purchased a neglected private home in Caesarea, Israel, and transformed it over six months into a bright, open, and modern residence reflecting their dynamic lifestyle. The 400-square-meter house on a 630-square-meter lot was originally rundown and did not suit the needs of the parents, who run an international cosmetics company, and their three children aged 7, 9, and 10. Their goal was to create a home that felt like a private resort yet remained functional for everyday family life.

Interior designer Moran Venuno led the comprehensive renovation, which included reconfiguring central living spaces, selecting natural materials like wood and stone, and integrating indoor and outdoor areas seamlessly. The exterior was modernized with white tones, exposed concrete, black profiles, and lush greenery, creating a hotel-like entrance. Inside, the open-plan kitchen, living room, and dining area feature a large marble island that serves as a family gathering spot, combining warm wood cabinetry with minimalist design elements.

The living room offers a calm atmosphere with cream-colored seating, soft fabrics, and natural light filtered through white curtains. The design blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors, with the pool and garden areas incorporated as integral parts of the living experience. The pool is surrounded by tall plants for privacy, alongside light-colored paving and comfortable seating areas.

Special attention was given to architectural details such as the staircase, which features light cladding and hidden lighting to create warmth and depth in the evenings. The master bedroom continues the serene theme with textured light panels, pendant lighting, and a light fabric sofa, evoking a private suite feel. The garden paths and tropical plants enhance the sense of a quiet, protected retreat.

Venuno emphasized that the design process began with defining the desired experience, resort-like tranquility, light, cleanliness, and privacy, rather than starting with colors or furniture. She highlighted the importance of balancing elegance with practicality to accommodate family life, children, and hosting guests in a refined yet livable home.
