Israeli Interior Designer Transforms 20-Year-Old House into Vibrant Family Home

Interior designer Noa Rodoy has revitalized a 20-year-old, 180-square-meter house in Rehovot, Israel, for a couple in their 40s and their nine-year-old daughter. The home, previously underutilized, underwent a full renovation to better suit the family's needs, focusing on meticulous details and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The ground floor features a spacious, expanded kitchen with burgundy veneer cabinets and a porcelain countertop, leading to a living area designed without a television. Instead, a large workspace and reading nook with a built-in bench and bookshelves were incorporated. Hidden doors conceal a guest room, office, and powder room, while the dining area includes a custom bench with integrated shelving. The design emphasizes rich textiles, lush greenery connecting to the outdoors, and warm color palettes.

The second floor houses the master suite, complete with a private bathroom and a balcony, featuring a high ceiling and a large R-shaped closet. The daughter's room is a narrower, elongated space with a built-in closet and a bed designed for longevity. Both bedrooms have access to private balconies with unique tiling.

A standout feature of the renovation is the basement, which includes a safe room, a TV area, and a gym, but is primarily dedicated to a private dance hall. This space boasts deep turquoise velvet walls, a large mirror, and a rotating disco ball, fulfilling the family's shared passion for dancing, especially the mother and daughter.

The exterior was also enhanced with a renewed deck, a pergola with fans, and fruit trees, creating an enjoyable outdoor living space complete with a small outdoor kitchen and grill. The renovation aimed to create a functional, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment tailored to the family's lifestyle.
