Kabbalist Rabbi Abraham Avish Celebrates Traditional Outdoor Shabbat in Safed

מאת משה ויסברג

The story · English

Last Saturday, ahead of the annual commemoration of the holy Ari (Rabbi Isaac Luria), seekers of spirituality gathered in the holy city of Safed for an uplifting Shabbat event near the tomb of Benjamin the Righteous. The highlight of the weekend was the outdoor Kabbalat Shabbat prayer service conducted with great devotion and according to the customs of the Ari, a renowned 16th-century Kabbalist.

The entire Shabbat order and preparations were meticulously arranged and managed by Rabbi Yoel Aharon Shulman, the right hand of Rabbi Abraham Avish Tzainvurt, who led the event as per the kabbalist's request. The gathering emphasized spiritual elevation and adherence to the mystical traditions of the Ari, reflecting Safed's historic role as a center of Kabbalah.

Photographic documentation of the event was provided by Rabbi Avish Tzainvurt himself, capturing the solemn and heartfelt moments of the outdoor Shabbat prayers. This event continues the longstanding tradition of honoring the Ari's teachings and maintaining the spiritual heritage of Safed.
