Hapoel Be'er Sheva arrived in Iceland under cool and rainy conditions ahead of their first Champions League qualifying match against local champions Vikingur. Coach Ran Kozuch is planning several changes to the lineup, including starting Mohammed Abu Romi in place of Roi Levi, who played in the recent loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champion of Champions match. Additionally, Jibril Diop is set to join the central defense. However, the team remains undecided on who will partner Diop in defense, with a choice still to be made between left-backs Matan Balatska and Ofir Davidzada. This decision will also affect the selection of the central defender alongside Diop.
The squad is boosted by the return of players Zehavi Ahmed and Javon East, providing Coach Kozuch with more options. Meanwhile, João Victor remains in Israel and is undergoing a scan to assess the severity of a hamstring tear. These preparations reflect the team's efforts to optimize their lineup for the crucial European fixture.
