A Tel Aviv resident has been diagnosed with West Nile virus, marking the first confirmed case in Israel during the summer of 2026. The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection jointly announced the diagnosis. Despite this case, the Ministry of Environmental Protection continues to monitor mosquito populations closely and reports that no mosquitoes carrying the virus have been detected so far this season.
