Argentina secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over England in the World Cup semifinals on Wednesday, advancing to the final against Spain. The match, held in Atlanta, saw Argentina come from behind after intense pressure on England's goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Lionel Messi assisted both goals, setting up Lautaro Martinez in stoppage time (90+2) and Enzo Fernandez in the 85th minute. This final, scheduled for Sunday at 22:00 in New Jersey, will mark the first time the reigning World Cup champion faces the European champion in the final.

The Argentine media praised the team's spirit and resilience, with TYC calling it "alive! The Argentine magic continues." Lautaro Martinez, who maintained Inter Milan's streak of having a player in every World Cup final since 1982, broke down in tears during his post-match interview. He shared that he had dreamed of scoring this goal since his father bought him his first football boots and expressed deep emotional fulfillment, crediting his children for helping him enjoy the moment.

Coach Lionel Scaloni expressed pride in his team's unique character, emphasizing their relentless effort and commitment. He stated, "This is the heart. We will try to win the final and give everything, but what we've done is already impressive. The jersey demands giving everything until the end. These players never cease to surprise me. They take us to victory."
