Hapoel Jerusalem Celebrates 100 Years with Major Fan Event

Hapoel Jerusalem marked its centennial anniversary on July 14, 2026, with a large celebration attended by about 1,000 fans, including locals and supporters from abroad. The event took place on the lawn of the Olamiya event hall, overlooking the Armon Hanatziv promenade, serving as the club's main commemoration for the milestone year.

The club emphasized the deep connection between the team and its diverse fan base, which includes supporters from various Jerusalem neighborhoods such as Teddy, YMCA, and Katamon. Families arrived early to enjoy children’s games, while current players and past legends from the club’s storied history since the 1970s participated, including a special appearance of the lost 1973 State Cup trophy for fans to photograph.

The celebration featured a screening of a documentary about the club’s first 100 years, a "Meat and Wine Festival" menu, and musical performances by Amir Shtrit and the fan band Tiko Tov. Club chairman Yotam Carmon highlighted the significance of being "red in Jerusalem" as a statement of identity and community pride beyond football, acknowledging the club’s modest size but unmatched fan loyalty.

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion also addressed the crowd, framing the centenary as a reflection of the city’s history and character. He pledged continued municipal support for the club’s growth and development. The event underscored Hapoel Jerusalem’s role as a symbol of local identity and resilience through a century of challenges and triumphs.
