Hapoel Jerusalem Celebrates 100 Years with Major Fan Event
Hapoel Jerusalem marked its centennial anniversary with a large celebration attended by around 1,000 fans, including locals and supporters from abroad. The event took place on July 14, 2026, on the lawn of the Olamiya event hall overlooking the Armon Hanatziv promenade in Jerusalem. The club described the gathering as its main event of the year, emphasizing the deep connection between the team and its diverse fan base, which includes supporters from various local neighborhoods and historical clubs.
Families and players participated in community activities, including a children's games area and appearances by past club legends from the 1970s. A special highlight was the display of the legendary 1973 State Cup trophy, which had been lost for years. Attendees also watched a commemorative film about the club’s first 100 years and enjoyed a "Meat and Wine Festival" dinner, followed by musical performances from Amir Shitrit and the fan band Tiko Tov.
Hapoel Jerusalem chairman Yotam Carmon highlighted the club’s identity, stating, "Being red in Jerusalem is a statement, an identity, a perspective, and a voice," adding that the club is proud of its unique community despite not always being the most successful. Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion praised the club’s century-long history as a symbol of Jerusalemite identity and pledged continued municipal support for its development.
