The highly anticipated transfer of Israeli winger Anan Khalaily to Italian champions Inter Milan has officially fallen through. The deal, valued at approximately 25 million euros and set to make Khalaily the most expensive Israeli footballer ever, was canceled due to abnormal findings in his echocardiogram. Despite Khalaily's arrival in Milan and agreement on a five-year contract, the strict health regulations enforced by the Italian Olympic Committee prevented the issuance of his official fitness clearance.
Inter Milan, unable to secure the necessary medical approvals, promptly began exploring alternative candidates for the right-back and winger positions. For Khalaily, this development is a significant professional setback, forcing him to return immediately to Belgium for comprehensive medical evaluations to determine his future career prospects.
The collapse of this historic transfer deal has sent shockwaves through Israeli football, marking a major missed opportunity as the Italian transfer window continues. Khalaily's situation remains uncertain as he undergoes further medical assessments.
