Beitar Jerusalem will play Hapoel Tel Aviv on Saturday at the Netanya Stadium without several key players. Luka Gadrani is sidelined due to pain in his fibula, an issue he also faced last season. Brian Cavali is suspended, while Tomer Yosefi, Gil Cohen, and Adi Yona are injured. Omri Atsili, who recently returned to full training, is unlikely to start and may begin on the bench. Despite the importance of the match against a strong and physical rival, Beitar is prioritizing their upcoming away game against AEK Larnaca in European competition five days later and will avoid taking unnecessary risks.
Regarding the final foreign player to be added to the squad, the club has not yet decided whether to recruit a defender or a midfielder. The strong performance of Daniel Vorko during training camp, combined with frequent defensive absences, has led to this uncertainty. Beitar is currently evaluating foreign players for both positions, with a decision possibly postponed until after the two European matches.
One potential solution to alleviate coach Almog Cohen's challenges could be granting Eugene Ansah temporary resident status during the current transfer window. Despite efforts by influential parties to assist Beitar in this matter, the chances of success remain low. No official responses from Beitar Jerusalem have been published regarding this issue yet.
