The Israeli U20 women's basketball team made history by reaching the final of the European Championship for the first time, ultimately securing the silver medal after a 79-66 loss to a strong French team on Sunday. Despite trailing by 18 points, Israel mounted a heroic comeback to narrow the gap to just five points. The team was led by standout player Gal Raviv, who averaged 28 points, 7.2 assists, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game throughout the tournament, scoring 29 points in the final.

France entered the tournament as the clear favorite and had suffered very few losses in recent years, but Israel had previously surprised them in a prestigious tournament last year. Although Israel could not replicate that upset this time, their silver medal remains the greatest achievement in the history of the Israeli U20 women's basketball team.

The Israel Basketball Association praised the team and coach Tal Natan for their historic performance, expressing pride in their accomplishment. Association chairman Amos Frishman highlighted the team's heroic effort and the spirit they brought to every game, thanking the coaching staff and players for their landmark achievement.
