Isfahan's Jewish Leader Mourns Khamenei, Highlights His Support for Religious Minorities

Soleiman Zadikpour, the leader of the Jewish community in Isfahan and rabbi of the Ketar David synagogue, expressed deep sorrow over the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was assassinated by Israel in February. Zadikpour praised Khamenei's simplicity, humility, and paternal approach, emphasizing his commitment to human dignity and equal rights for all Iranians, including Jews and other religious minorities. He described Khamenei as a reliable supporter of peaceful coexistence and national unity.

In an interview with the Iranian news agency ISNA, Zadikpour condemned the "Zionist regime" and reflected on Khamenei's moral character, generosity, courage, and public spirit, which earned him respect across diverse social groups regardless of religion or background. He highlighted Khamenei's genuine simplicity, which was evident in his lifestyle, interactions, and leadership style, avoiding pomp and fostering direct, sincere connections with people.

Zadikpour also noted Khamenei's humility during meetings, where attendees of all social statuses and faiths felt respected and valued. He lamented the loss of a leader dedicated to courage, unity, and national cohesion, but expressed faith that Khamenei's spiritual legacy will endure in Iranian history and inspire future generations.

The Jewish leader underscored Khamenei's fatherly attitude toward the Jewish community, which helped them live peacefully and securely alongside other citizens. He reiterated the distinction Khamenei maintained between Judaism as a divine religion and Zionism as a political movement, a stance that reinforced the Jewish community's valued status within Iran.
