Woman Hospitalized in ICU with Kidney Failure After Home Hair Straightening; Health Ministry Issues Warning

A woman in Hadera was admitted to intensive care with severe kidney failure following a hair straightening treatment at a home-based salon. The Israeli Ministry of Health has issued a public warning against using the product LEGEND, instructing an immediate halt to its use, marketing, and distribution. Authorities have filed a police complaint to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Initial inspections at the manufacturing facility revealed concerns that the product used may not match the original LEGEND formula. The Ministry advises that hair straightening treatments should only be performed in licensed salons using approved cosmetic products. It also urges individuals to seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms such as reduced urine output, swelling, nausea, or extreme fatigue after hair straightening procedures.
