Emanuel Community Holds Grand Welcome for Released Torah Scholar Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Dovdevani

A significant event took place on Sunday in the city of Emanuel, led by the city's rabbis and prominent Torah scholars, to warmly welcome Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Dovdevani, a respected Torah scholar who was recently released from military prison after serving 13 days. Hundreds of residents from Emanuel and the surrounding areas gathered in the streets to honor Rabbi Dovdevani, who was seated on a horse as the crowd sang “Thus shall be done to the man whom the king desires to honor.”

The reception was organized by the "Notnim Gev" organization, and a red carpet was laid out at Rabbi Dovdevani’s home, where he distributed ice pops to attendees. The event featured speeches by Rabbi Moshe Avraham Golinsky, rabbi of the Salons community and son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Berzovsky, head of the Salons yeshivas, as well as Rabbi Shlomo Klein, leader of the Hasidic community in Emanuel. Both rabbis emphasized the spiritual dedication of yeshiva students and Torah prisoners, particularly Rabbi Dovdevani, and expressed support for yeshiva students facing severe persecution by military and state authorities. They also articulated the Haredi Jewish perspective in opposition to the secular Zionist state.

At the conclusion of the event, Rabbi Dovdevani expressed gratitude on behalf of himself and his family to the "Notnim Gev" organization for their support throughout his imprisonment and related hardships. He also thanked Rabbi Avraham Kleizner for his assistance in organizing the reception. The event was widely documented and shared by local photographers.
