Russia May Attack Poland to Test NATO Unity, Western Officials Warn

Western officials have warned Poland of a possible Russian military provocation aimed at destabilizing NATO. According to a report by the Polish news site Onet on July 3, 2026, the United States has conveyed multiple warnings to Warsaw about Moscow's preparations for a potential armed attack on Polish territory. The scenarios under consideration include missile or drone strikes on critical infrastructure or incursions by Russian troops into Poland, a NATO member state.

Sources close to Polish President Karol Nawrocki indicated that these assessments are part of ongoing intelligence evaluations.
