A mother of a toddler from the "Luchik" daycare in Ariel, identified only as Rotem, has shared her profound distress following the indictment of three caregivers for severe abuse. "I keep asking myself how I didn't see this," she stated, reflecting on her son's nighttime awakenings with crying and screams, which she now understands were linked to the abuse.

Rotem expressed her difficulty in comprehending how the abuse of 17 infants and toddlers, including her son, went unnoticed. In an interview with Reshet Bet's "Ba'Hatsi Hayom," she said, "I don't know what to say about the harm my child suffered, but I know he was harmed." She is awaiting police footage to understand the full extent of her son's ordeal.

The indictment details hundreds of abuse incidents perpetrated by the three caregivers, Natalia Kasilvsky, Darina Khalfa, and Anna Pagelski. Among the alleged methods were "choking techniques," where the toddlers' airways were forcibly blocked with hands, paper, or cloth, and "tying techniques," where infants were tightly wrapped in fabrics, restricting movement.

Prosecutors highlighted the danger posed by the accused, citing the severity and frequency of the acts against very young children. The caregivers appeared in court, where many parents, including Rotem, were present. Rotem described her trembling as she faced the accused for the first time since the scandal broke, urging other parents to "listen to your children, they know everything."
