Political strategist Shlomo Filber alleges Avigdor Lieberman spent months planning to become prime minister by securing support from centrist parties and Likud defectors. Filber claims three factors prevented this: Vinter being seen as a threat by the right, a surge in Arab party support, and Netanyahu's internal Likud decisions limiting potential defectors. Lieberman's plan was described by Filber as "a spectacle of extortion and blackmail."

Political strategist Shlomo Filber claims that Avigdor Lieberman had been preparing for months a plan to seize the prime minister's post, leveraging support from centrist forces and defectors from the Likud party. Filber commented on Lieberman's recent statement about his willingness to join the government with ultra-Orthodox parties in exchange for a softer draft law.

Filber stated that he is unsure how the political situation will unfold or if Lieberman, Bennett, or Eisenkot accurately predicted the election results. However, he is confident that Lieberman had a long-term strategy to become prime minister. Filber described this strategy as "a spectacle of extortion and blackmail."

According to Filber, a figure named Vinter was central to Lieberman's plan. However, three factors allegedly thwarted Lieberman's ambitions. First, the right-wing camp viewed Vinter as a threat, hindering efforts to attract right-wing voters. Second, a significant surge in support for Arab parties, due to high voter turnout among Arab citizens, doubled their political strength. This diminished the proportional share of votes for other parties, including Likud, Bennett's party, and ultra-Orthodox factions, dealing a blow to Lieberman's expectation of a double-digit mandate.

Third, Filber cited Netanyahu's internal Likud decisions, such as hand-picking candidates for the party list and holding primaries, as a reason for the plan's failure. These moves, Filber believes, drastically reduced the number of potential Likud defectors Lieberman had hoped to recruit.
