The religious affairs commentator, Avishai Ben-Chaim, commented on Friday on a scenario where the Haredi parties would align with Avigdor Lieberman in exchange for a lenient draft law. Ben-Chaim expressed skepticism, stating that the Haredim, who he claims support the trampling of traditional voters, believe their alliance with the left will lead to anti-Haredi politicians realizing how little the draft issue matters to them. However, Ben-Chaim predicts that many more 'Haredi-lovers' will instead realize how little the Haredim care about the people of Israel.

Earlier, Avigdor Lieberman had outlined his positions in a briefing. He stated that the era of Netanyahu must end, further elections must be avoided, and a government relying on the abstention of the Joint List and Ra'am must not be formed. Lieberman reiterated his firm opposition to a government dependent on the abstention of these parties, with Yisrael Beiteinu voting against such a coalition.

Lieberman added that on all other issues, compromise is permissible and desirable, acknowledging that one cannot achieve everything. This includes the draft law, which he admitted is painful but argued that Israel's national interest must take precedence over all other considerations given the current challenges.
