A 85-year-old man choked on a piece of pita bread while eating at a synagogue in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening, causing him to lose consciousness. Emergency medical services received a call at 5:35 PM and dispatched paramedics to the scene. The medical team successfully removed the obstruction from his throat and provided him with medical treatment. He was then transported by an intensive care ambulance to Wolfson Hospital in serious but stable condition.
"When we arrived at the scene, we were led to a man who was unconscious after choking while eating," said MDA paramedic Libi David, senior medic Mai Buzaglo, and emergency medical technician Eliezer Yehoshua. "We provided him with on-site medical treatment to remove the foreign object, and after he regained consciousness, we evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital with his condition serious and stable."
