Tony Blair, a senior official in Donald Trump's "Peace Council" focused on a post-war Gaza arrangement, has met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, expressing significant frustration over the lack of progress toward a deal. The meeting was reportedly tense. Blair, the former British Prime Minister, is also scheduled to meet with Gadi Eisenkot.

Blair, 72, who brings extensive regional experience from his time as Quartet Representative for the Middle East, is backed by individuals close to former President Trump. He is slated to lead the "Gaza Transitional Authority" (Gita), an entity intended to serve as the supreme political and legal authority in the Gaza Strip for up to five years.

The Gita plan was developed in collaboration with Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Middle East Envoy Steve Wittekoff during a White House meeting. The transitional authority will initially be managed by a general secretariat of approximately 25 representatives and a seven-member steering committee.

The body is set to begin operations in El-Arish, North Sinai, before relocating into Gaza. Its deployment will be supported by a UN-backed multinational task force, primarily composed of Arab nations. The proposed model draws parallels to successful governance structures implemented in Kosovo and East Timor.
