Widow of Fallen Officer Marries New Partner in Gaza War After Engagement

Hillel Shenazi, whose husband Captain Eitan Yisrael Shenazi was killed in combat in the Gaza Strip at age 24, remarried Natanel Pollak on Wednesday. The wedding took place approximately two months after the couple announced their engagement. Shenazi lost her first husband, Captain Eitan Yisrael Shenazi, a resident of the community of Eli, who served as deputy company commander in the 932nd Battalion of the Nahal Brigade. He fell in battle in northern Gaza. The couple's engagement announcement, shared two months prior, included a quote from a piyyut (liturgical poem) and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to begin a new chapter, acknowledging those who sacrificed their lives for Israel's existence. "We thank God for opening and for the generosity of heart, for abundant goodness and kindness. In their light and from their strength, those who gave their souls for our revival, we are happy to announce that we are engaged," they wrote.
