Yisrael Beiteinu faction chairman MK Oded Forer, representing his seven-member party, formally requested Ohana to place the election of the 26th Knesset Speaker on the agenda for the first session on Tuesday, November 10. Similarly, MK Efrat Rayten submitted a demand on behalf of the eight-member Democrats faction for a vote on November 10.

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana responded by stating that the customary time for electing a speaker is after a government is formed. However, he noted that if a request signed by at least 61 MKs is submitted, a discussion on the matter would be scheduled within a week. "There will be no clinging to the horns of the altar. You can stop promoting conspiracy theories in the media," Ohana stated.

Electing a new speaker could grant the Change Bloc significant influence over the parliamentary agenda, including advancing legislation and determining the composition of Knesset committees, even if government formation talks are prolonged. However, to oust Ohana and elect a successor, the parties will need to unite around a consensus candidate.
