Her condition is stable, and she is not in life-threatening danger, according to her husband, Guy Maroz. Vilnai, 54, is scheduled to undergo a cardiac catheterization procedure on Thursday.
Maroz explained that Vilnai has been battling a rare autoimmune disease for years, which has previously affected her lungs and now her heart. She suffered two previous heart events 12 years ago due to the condition, which causes inflammation in blood vessels. The specific autoimmune disease she has is called Churg-Strauss syndrome, affecting two in a million people.
Maroz noted the coincidence of her hospitalization on November 4th, the anniversary of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination 31 years ago, who was also rushed to Ichilov Hospital. He shared a video on X reflecting on the date and his presence at the hospital.
