Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the 'Zeut' party, announced Wednesday that he will recommend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to form the next government. The announcement came during an interview with 'Walla' news, ahead of the recommendation period at the President's Residence. Despite his recommendation, Feiglin expressed sharp criticism of Netanyahu, stating his support for a future coalition is not guaranteed. "I committed in advance to recommend Netanyahu and therefore I will do so, but nothing beyond that," Feiglin clarified. He added that Netanyahu "can count me with an asterisk, assuming he forms a government and I receive the role I want, Defense Minister." Feiglin acknowledged the slim chances of his one-mandate party receiving the defense portfolio but insisted on his demand, explaining that "everything depends on the political constellation." He stated his return to politics is aimed at preventing another attack on the scale of October 7th.
Feiglin also leveled harsh criticism against the Prime Minister, accusing him of security failures that led to the October 7th "disaster." "He should have resigned on October 8th, he should have handed over the keys," Feiglin asserted. However, he justified his practical decision to support Netanyahu by stating, "I am a political person, I do not deal in philosophy. Netanyahu is the least bad option." Feiglin concluded by blaming Netanyahu for the "deep rot" that has permeated the entire security system.
