Hapoel Holon has suspended player Rivaldo Soares until further notice following an incident with fans during the team's last game against Maccabi Rishon LeZion. The club announced the decision after a disciplinary hearing, stating that such behavior will not be tolerated. The incident reportedly involved an exchange of words between Soares and some fans, culminating in the player making an offensive gesture towards the stands. Soares has since issued a sincere apology to the club and its supporters, taking full responsibility for his actions and acknowledging the responsibility that comes with representing the team. The suspension follows a strong reaction from the team's fan organization, which had demanded the player's dismissal for disrespecting the fans and the club's symbol. Hapoel Holon currently holds a 3-1 record in the Israeli Basketball Premier League and a 2-1 record in the FIBA Champions League, with the team's performance described as inconsistent. The coaching staff is reportedly seeking an additional guard to strengthen the team.
