The head of the Shin Bet, David Zini, is refusing to transfer investigation materials concerning suspected foreign influence in elections and the transfer of funds to a member of the Joint List party to the police. This is contrary to an agreement reached in a meeting with the Chairman of the Election Committee, Judge Noam Sohlberg, held on Saturday. According to senior law enforcement sources, during the summary of the meeting, which dealt with suspicions the Shin Bet is investigating, it was decided to establish a special joint investigation team of the Shin Bet and the police to examine the information. Zini insisted that Knesset members and activists from the Joint List be investigated under caution.

It was agreed that the Shin Bet would transfer its information to the Commander of the Investigations Division, Boaz Balat, who would then examine it together with the State Attorney's Office. However, Zini is reportedly keeping the materials to himself and is attempting to act alone regarding Sohlberg, while also sidelining senior Shin Bet officials and the Attorney General.
