The Religious Zionism party issued a sharp statement Tuesday against Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, citing allegations that she is obstructing an investigation into suspicions of foreign interference in elections. The party stated that if the head of the Shin Bet indeed claims the Attorney General is thwarting the investigation, it would constitute an "earthquake."
In response to these claims, the party called on the Chairman of the Election Committee, Judge Noam Sohlberg, to order Baharav-Miara's removal from any involvement in the investigation. They argued this is necessary to prevent harm to the investigation, accusing her of similar conduct in the investigation of the Military Advocate General.
The Religious Zionism party also demanded a full investigation into suspicions of ties between terror organizations and enemy elements and Arab members of Knesset, utilizing the Shin Bet's investigative powers.
