He began his post by noting his absence from reserve duty in Lebanon, emphasizing that the soldiers serving there should be the nation's top priority in all decisions and government formations. He concluded by stating, "They are the reason we need to establish a Zionist government here."
However, Avigdor Lieberman has ruled out supporting a minority government and stated that a stable government can be formed without Ra'am or the Joint List. Lieberman also definitively rejected any possibility of joining a government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, even in a rotation agreement.
Elisaf Peretz is the son of Miriam Peretz and the brother of Uriel Peretz, who was killed in southern Lebanon in 1998, and Eliraz Peretz, who fell in the Gaza Strip in 2010. Both brothers served in the elite Golani Brigade's reconnaissance unit. Elisaf also served in the same unit and founded the "Our Brothers" association, which supports bereaved siblings and memorializes fallen soldiers. He joined politics this year with Hili Tropper, was placed 20th on the list, and was elected to the Knesset.
