Daniel Theis, the highest-paid player on Maccabi Tel Aviv's basketball team, has expressed significant frustration over his lack of playing time in recent games. Theis, who joined the club on a two-year contract worth $2.2 million per season, has not played in two consecutive matches and was only used for a limited time in a prior game. The German player, who boasts an impressive resume including an NBA Finals appearance and international championships with Germany, stated to teammates that he is "very committed to the team and wants to help it win." He also conveyed his desire to better understand the expectations placed upon him by the coaching staff, despite appreciating coach Oded Katash and the team.
The professional staff at Maccabi Tel Aviv explained that the decisions regarding Theis's playing time are purely professional.
