Municipal Security Vehicle Hits Teenager on Electric Scooter in Petah Tikva

A video circulating on social media Saturday morning shows a municipal security vehicle in Petah Tikva hitting a teenager riding an electric scooter and then leaving the scene. The incident occurred Friday night. The video, published on Daniel Amram's Telegram channel, depicts a municipal security car pursuing a teenager on an electric scooter at high speed. The teenager then brakes sharply, causing the security vehicle to collide with him. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to offer assistance, according to the video, but continued driving. The teenager sustained minor injuries and left the scene on another electric scooter.

Sources familiar with the incident stated that municipal security officers responded to reports of disturbances and public disorder. After the teenagers began provoking the officers, one of them rode his scooter alongside the patrol car and deliberately braked hard, leading to the collision. Police confirmed the teenager had prior encounters with law enforcement for similar public behavior.

The Petah Tikva municipality stated that its security officers did not flee the scene. They claim the vehicle stopped nearby and additional municipal units arrived. Police clarified that the individuals involved were not police officers and the vehicle was not a police car, contrary to some social media claims. The Petah Tikva police station has launched an investigation into the incident, to be handled by the Central District's traffic accident investigation unit. The municipality reiterated that its officers responded to public disorder and dangerous behavior, did not flee, and that the circumstances are under investigation.
