Following a cool Friday with scattered showers in northern and central Israel, the country is set to experience a warming trend over the weekend and into early next week. Temperatures are expected to rise starting Saturday, October 31, and by the beginning of the following week, some areas will be warmer than usual for late October, according to Ynet.

On Saturday, variable cloudiness is forecast, with temperatures returning to seasonal norms in most regions. No significant precipitation is expected. Sunday, November 1, will see continued warming, particularly in mountainous and inland areas, where temperatures may slightly exceed average for this time of year. The warming trend will persist into Monday, November 2, with most of Israel experiencing above-average temperatures.

This shift follows a week of unusually intense rainfall in southern Israel, which caused widespread flooding and road closures. On Tuesday, the day of the parliamentary elections, a new record for 10-minute rainfall intensity was set near the Ramon crater, with 35.6 millimeters of rain falling in the Nahal Gvanim area. This surpassed the previous record of 33.4 millimeters set in Jericho in 1987. The meteorological service estimates the probability of such intense rainfall occurring once every 200 years.

The heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds, particularly affected the eastern Negev and southern Arava regions. Flash floods in riverbeds near the Dead Sea, Negev, and Arava led to the closure of several roads. The severe weather also impacted the parliamentary elections, delaying some voters in southern communities from reaching their polling stations.
