Referees' Committee Cites Major Errors in Toto Cup Final

The Israeli Referees' Association's professional committee has identified two significant errors made by referee Schnir Levy and the VAR team during the Toto Cup final, where Hapoel Tel Aviv defeated Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-2. The committee's findings, released on October 30, highlighted that Levy failed to award Maccabi Tel Aviv a penalty in first-half stoppage time when Omri Altman fouled Dor Peretz in the box. The committee stated a penalty should have been given, and the VAR officials should have intervened when the on-field referee did not call a foul.

Additionally, the committee determined that Maccabi Tel Aviv defender Mohamed Ali Camara should have received a red card for a brutal foul on Omri Altman late in the second half, with the score at 3-0 to Hapoel Tel Aviv. Camara received only a yellow card for the offense, which the committee described as "brutal" and posing a significant danger to the opponent. The VAR team was again criticized for not intervening when a red card was not issued on the field.
