Police Injured, Journalist Attacked During Illegal Protest Near Bnei Brak

Three police officers and a journalist were injured during an illegal demonstration on Highway 4 near Bnei Brak on Thursday evening. Hundreds of protesters blocked the road and the Gih'e intersection, disrupting public order and clashing with police. According to a police statement, demonstrators threw objects at officers, resulting in three injuries, with two officers hospitalized for head and ear injuries. A television crew, consisting of a man and a woman, was also attacked, and the female journalist sustained a head injury from a thrown stone. Police declared the protest illegal, but demonstrators ignored orders to disperse, continuing to block the road and disturb public order. Three suspects were arrested for assaulting police officers and disturbing public order. Police confirmed the protest was dispersed and Highway 4 was reopened to traffic in both directions. The police emphasized their commitment to allowing legal demonstrations while prohibiting public disorder, obstruction of movement, or endangering public safety.
