The Israel Police officially opened the new Eyal District in the Central Region on Tuesday in a festive ceremony. The establishment of the district is part of an organizational initiative aimed at strengthening governance, intensifying the fight against crime, enhancing personal security, and improving citizen services.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Inspector General of the Israel Police, Dani Levy, Commander of the Central District, Amir Cohen, the incoming commander of the Eyal District, Avi Levi, as well as mayors, council heads, station commanders, and police leadership.
The new district will house patrol, intelligence, investigation, and detective units, providing comprehensive police response to communities in the area. The police stated that the creation of the district and the reinforcement of forces on the ground are significant steps in bolstering residents' personal security, increasing police presence, improving service accessibility, and deepening the fight against crime.
Inspector General Levy remarked during the ceremony, "The responsibility we carried on Election Day accompanies us every day, to protect the citizen and allow them to live in security. Out of this responsibility, we are inaugurating the Eyal District here today at the Tayibe station. The district is intended to strengthen the defense of the seam-line communities, deepen the fight against crime, and ensure a rapid and coordinated response in emergencies."
Central District Commander Cohen added, "We are not just inaugurating a new police district; we are strengthening the protective shield of the State of Israel. The establishment of the Eyal District is an expression of an operational concept of responsibility, initiative, and readiness."
