Israel Police Inspector General Dani Levy has responded for the first time to suspicions surrounding election integrity, following the head of the Central Elections Committee's order to open a Shin Bet investigation into indications of election fraud in the Arab sector. Levy stated, "The Israel Police announced that it will guard the purity of the elections with all its might, and so it shall. Every complaint received and every suspicion of a criminal offense concerning the purity of the elections will be thoroughly investigated without prejudice." Levy further committed that the police would not permit any harm to the electoral process. "We will not allow anyone to harm the purity of the elections and the democratic process. For any suspicion of a criminal offense, the police will act decisively to investigate the truth and prosecute those involved, without exception," he added.
