The United States has alerted several Middle Eastern nations and regional allies to prepare for potential further U.S. military strikes against Iran following next week's midterm elections. These allies have also been warned to brace for possible Iranian retaliation targeting their territories. According to AP, U.S. diplomatic and security officials have advised regional governments to take precautions against potential attacks from Iran and its proxies.

While President Donald Trump has not yet decided on authorizing additional military action against Iran, he has repeatedly suggested that further strikes could occur after the November 3rd elections. U.S. officials have informed regional allies that a new offensive might last several days. However, Middle Eastern sources express concern that retaliatory strikes by Iran and its proxies could prolong the conflict beyond the planned U.S. operation. Particular emphasis was placed on the possibility of Iran targeting energy facilities and other critical infrastructure.

In response, Washington has called on its regional partners to enhance their defensive preparedness. The White House and other U.S. officials declined to comment on the report. This AP report follows a Wall Street Journal story from the previous day, which stated that Washington had advised several Arab Gulf states to prepare for a brief but intense military campaign against Iran post-elections. The Journal also reported that the U.S. military has begun taking preparatory measures in the region, including reinforcing air defense systems and relocating personnel from bases deemed vulnerable to Iranian attacks.
