Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is making significant moves to bolster its position in the space sector and streamline operations. The company announced the appointment of Sudri as Senior Vice President and Director of the Missiles and Space Systems Division. Sudri brings over 30 years of experience in leading strategic programs and complex defense systems in missile, air defense, and space technologies. He previously headed IAI's Arrow and Missile Defense Administration and later managed the Space Administration, overseeing significant growth, international market expansion, and the development of advanced satellites.

In a parallel strategic move, IAI's board of directors has approved the merger of its subsidiary Elta into the parent company. This integration, which received government approval in July, aims to consolidate capabilities, reduce bureaucracy, and enhance organizational and business resilience. The merger is expected to be completed by the end of 2027 or a later agreed-upon date, subject to necessary approvals.

Under the merger agreement, Elta's operations, assets, rights, and liabilities will be fully transferred to IAI. Elta will continue to operate as a division under its own name but will cease to exist as a separate legal entity. This consolidation is intended to simplify processes, reduce interfaces, and increase organizational flexibility.

IAI Chairman Boaz Levi stated that the merger is a significant strategic move designed to strengthen the company's organizational and business robustness, unify its capabilities, and foster long-term growth. He emphasized the importance of IAI's human capital and the partnership between management and employees. CEO Guy Bar Lev described the merger as a milestone in realizing IAI's "One Company" vision, highlighting Elta's advanced technologies as crucial for Israel's and global defense systems. Both leaders stressed the collaboration with the workers' organization to preserve Elta's unique capabilities and human capital.
