Referee Sapir Berman Passes Fitness Tests, Set to Return to Top Soccer League

Referee Sapir Berman is on track to return to the Israeli Premier League after successfully passing her fitness tests on Wednesday. She had previously failed to meet the required standards at the start of the season. Berman recently served as a video assistant referee (VAR) during the 1-1 draw between Maccabi Netanya and Ironi Tiberias. Before that, she officiated as a head referee in the National League and youth leagues. Last season, Berman refereed 24 matches across the Premier League, National League, and State Cup. Her final match of the previous season was Maccabi Haifa's 5-2 victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva in a game that was protocol-only after Be'er Sheva had already secured the championship. This marked her first involvement in a Premier League fixture since the previous season, albeit not as a head referee. Throughout her career, Berman has officiated 174 professional league matches, including 39 in the Premier League, 106 in the National League, 12 in the State Cup, 9 in the upper playoff, 7 in the lower playoff, and one friendly between the Israeli U-18 team and Germany.
