Jeff Teague Says Portland Trail Blazers 'Saved The NBA'

The Portland Trail Blazers are exceeding expectations early in the NBA season, holding a 3-0 record after a recent road win against the Lakers. Israeli player Deni Avdija is part of the team's strong start, alongside standout performances from Ja Morant and Damian Lillard. The team's impressive play has garnered positive attention from American media.

On the 'Club 520 Podcast,' host Jeff Teague discussed the Trail Blazers' exciting start, particularly focusing on Ja Morant's return to prominence. Teague remarked that the game is simply more enjoyable with Morant playing, highlighting the team's deep backcourt. He noted the team's versatility, suggesting all three guards can play together effectively, with one capable of guarding any opponent.

Teague praised the Trail Blazers' numerous offensive weapons and positive team atmosphere, calling them "much cooler" than the Minnesota Timberwolves. He had previously considered the Timberwolves the most exciting team in the league before Anthony Edwards' injury. Ultimately, Teague concluded that Portland's current momentum and Morant's comeback have effectively "saved the NBA."

Commentator Kevin O'Connor also lauded Morant's return, observing that the guard looks like his former self, with impressive finishes and passes. O'Connor questioned if Morant's comeback could be considered the "comeback of the year."
