A new national center, B-HUB, has been established in Be'er Sheva, aiming to foster economic growth and innovation in the Negev region. This dual-use applied research, innovation, and economic growth center will bridge the needs of the defense establishment and defense industries with the academic research and technological capabilities available.
The primary goal of B-HUB is to transform defense and civilian challenges into technological solutions and to establish companies in the defense-tech sector. The initiative is a collaborative effort led by the State of Israel, involving multiple government ministries including the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience, the Ministry of Defense (through MAFAT and the Southern Relocation Administration), the Ministry of Economy, and the Israel Innovation Authority. It also includes partnerships with the Be'er Sheva Municipality, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and the city's medical institutions.

He emphasized that the center leverages the intellectual capital from the IDF's southern relocation, academic excellence, world-leading defense industries, and government incentives to create a groundbreaking innovative economy that will significantly reshape the future economies of Be'er Sheva, the Negev, and Israel as a whole.
