Tel Aviv Derby Security Tightened With Road Closures and Strict Entry Rules

Authorities are implementing significant security measures and traffic disruptions in Tel Aviv on Thursday ahead of the highly anticipated "Tel Aviv Derby" football match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv. The game is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 PM at Bloomfield Stadium.

Hundreds of police officers, ushers, and security guards will be deployed around the stadium and in surrounding streets to ensure public safety, maintain order, and manage traffic flow. Gates will open to spectators at 5:30 PM, with thorough security checks at the entrance. Fans are advised to arrive early to avoid congestion.

Several streets, including Amats, Sherit Ha'Yisrael, HaTchiyah, Etzion Gever, and streets numbered 3320 and 3952 from Ben Tzvi Street, will be closed to traffic starting at 3:00 PM. Parking will be prohibited on Sherit Ha'Yisrael and HaTchiyah streets from 10:00 AM, with police warning of increased enforcement against illegal parking.

Strict regulations will be enforced for stadium entry. Weapons are forbidden, and no arms will be accepted for safekeeping. Drone operation during the match is prohibited, as is the entry of alcohol or intoxicated individuals. Fan support equipment requires approval from the fire department, event management, and police. The use of flares and pyrotechnics is banned and may result in a 3,000 shekel fine and criminal proceedings. Entry with face coverings like balaclavas or neck warmers that hinder identification is also forbidden, with violators facing a 500 shekel fine and potential exclusion from the stadium.
