Candidate Lali Darai Defends Party's Election Strategy Amid Criticism

Lali Darai, a candidate for the 'Am Yisrael' party, has responded sarcastically to criticism from the right regarding her party's electoral performance, which resulted in a significant number of "wasted votes" as they failed to pass the electoral threshold. In a social media post, Darai stated, "Sorry we wanted to bring a different discourse to politics, a discourse that sees the people as a whole," and "Sorry we demanded a swift and decisive defeat of the enemy and sovereignty in all parts of our land."

Darai's post detailed a series of "apologies" that actually outlined her party's political platform. She expressed regret for wanting to introduce new forces filled with hope and for embracing fellow citizens regardless of political disagreement. She concluded by urging politicians to unite the people, stating, "The people demand Zionist unity. Politicians, ascend to the people!"

The chairman of 'Am Yisrael,' Ofer Winter, also addressed the election results, refusing to take responsibility for the risk of a left-wing government potentially forming. Speaking to party activists, Winter declared that the political struggle is long-term and has just begun. He claimed that his party succeeded in bringing voters to the polls who would not have supported coalition parties.
