Israeli security forces are continuing an operation in Hebron aimed at thwarting terrorism, following a shooting attack last weekend near the Yehuda Junction. That attack resulted in the deaths of Sergeant Major Ron Yonatan Reitman and Sergeant Yuval Shai Soilem, and injured three other soldiers. During the ongoing operation, Border Police undercover operatives, guided by intelligence from the Shin Bet, conducted searches overnight in several villages within the Yehuda Brigade area. They arrested six wanted individuals, including Hamas operatives suspected of involvement in terrorist activities, planning attacks, and promoting terrorism.
During searches in Hebron, IDF soldiers also located and confiscated weapons, including an M16 rifle, knives, a vest, and a replica handgun. The IDF stated that security forces will continue to act proactively and offensively to counter terrorism throughout the Yehuda and Shomron Division and to maintain the security of residents.
