In a social media post, Shir stated, "Eisenkot fought like a Chief of Staff against the bloc and lost like a political rookie against Netanyahu." She argued that Eisenkot "won the wrong battle in the end," a misstep that she claimed former Prime Ministers Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid had warned him about during the election campaign.
Shir suggested that Netanyahu did not need to excel during the election, but rather to capitalize on his rivals' mistakes. "Netanyahu, as always, didn't need to be the best. He just needed to let the political rookies make their mistakes, and like his predecessors, Eisenkot provided them," she wrote. She reiterated her criticism of Eisenkot's approach, highlighting the contrast between his extensive military experience and his performance in the political arena, stating, "He waged a Chief of Staff's war against his partners in the bloc, and lost as a rookie to Netanyahu."
