Heavy rains across southern Israel on Tuesday caused flash floods, leading to significant disruptions. A massive boulder, carried by floodwaters in the Tzin stream, collapsed Route 2499, the access road to Neot HaKikar. The moshavim (cooperative agricultural communities) of Neot HaKikar and Ein Tamar were consequently closed off. Flooding was also reported in the Arava stream.

Following the floods, all roads leading to and from Eilat were blocked to traffic. Jerusalem, the central region, and the Shefela also experienced rainfall.

Authorities reported that police, along with volunteer rescue units and the aerial unit of the Israel Police, operated in multiple locations across the Negev and Arava to rescue citizens and vehicles trapped in flooded areas. Searches were conducted from the ground and air.

Looking ahead, Wednesday is expected to see little change in temperatures with localized rain and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the north and center. The night will be partly cloudy with possible coastal rain. Thursday will bring localized rain in the north and a slight temperature drop, with strengthening winds. Friday is forecast to be cooler than average for the season in most areas, with light rain in the north and center. Saturday will be partly cloudy with a slight temperature increase, especially in the mountains and inland.
