A man in his 50s was killed in a shooting incident in Arraba, Lower Galilee, on Wednesday morning. Police arrived at the scene, initiated a search for suspects, and launched an investigation into the circumstances, with the motive believed to be criminal. The victim was critically injured and evacuated to Poriya Hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite resuscitation efforts. The MDA emergency service received the initial report at 5:49 AM.
Senior paramedic Mustafa Khatib described the scene: "When we arrived, we saw a man lying unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, after being injured in a violent incident. We immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts and evacuated him by MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital."
This incident follows another fatal shooting in Taybeh on Tuesday, where a 25-year-old man was killed while working. He was shot in front of his brother, who was working with him. Paramedics provided medical treatment to the victim and another injured person, evacuating them to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, where the younger man's death was later confirmed. Police are investigating this incident as well, with the motive likely a local dispute.
So far this year, 186 people from the Arab community have been murdered. Separately, as voting began on Tuesday, Arab citizens received phone calls as part of a campaign by the "Standing Together" movement to encourage voting. The calls featured a recording from Susan Sultan, whose sister Suzanne Bashara was murdered, urging people to vote in her sister's name.
