  • 79.9% of Israeli soldiers voted in the recent Knesset elections, an increase from the last election.
  • The Likud party leads preliminary vote counts, followed by Yesh Atid.
  • Soldier votes could influence the final distribution of Knesset seats.
  • Over 890 military polling stations were set up across Israel for the voting period.

Voting for Israeli soldiers concluded yesterday, marking the end of a week-long electoral process within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Over 890 military polling stations were established across bases and units nationwide, with approximately a quarter of these being mobile units. The final turnout among soldiers reached 79.9%, an increase of 6.2% compared to the previous Knesset elections.

Following the closure of polling stations, preliminary results indicate that the Likud party, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, is in the lead with 20.81% of the valid votes counted so far. The Yesh Atid party, headed by Gadi Eisenkot, is in second place with 17.06% of the votes, narrowing the gap from earlier reports. Based on these initial figures, Likud is projected to secure 27 seats, while Yesh Atid is expected to win 22 seats in the Knesset.

The high voter turnout among soldiers, along with votes cast in double envelopes, could potentially influence the final distribution of Knesset seats.
