Israeli rescue units are conducting extensive search operations in the Negev and Arava regions following flash floods that swept away at least three vehicles. The main search is focused near the Nahal Zin stream, close to the entrance of the Neot HaKikar settlement in the Arava.
Two helicopters carrying members of the Israeli Air Force's elite Unit 669 are assisting ground crews from the "Arava" rescue unit. The operation is complicated by severe weather conditions. Reports indicate that people and vehicles are trapped in flooded areas across multiple locations in the Negev and Arava.
Police are actively closing flooded roads and urging the public to avoid flood-prone areas, including riverbeds and water-covered roads, even when using off-road vehicles. The search efforts involve police officers, volunteer rescue teams, and aerial units.
